Red is the rose the trade is measured by. A red that opens slowly, holds its pigment for the full week and does not blue at the edge is what a wholesaler means by premium Ecuadorian. Ours are cut at 2,950 metres, where nights near 8 °C hold the colour in the petal, and they are the first bunch a buyer opens at a fair.
